Our God Comes

About The CD:  Antioch Live’s second all-original release, Our God Comes, carries the heart of the church and movement that is Antioch. Recorded live in Texas, the music is seasoned with flavors of progressive rock and pop with strains of folk. Specializing in anthems of the solid character of God (Wonderful Counselor, God and King, One Hundred Three and the title track, Our God Comes) as well as vulnerable admissions of personal humanity (I Will Raise, How Much More and Savior Forever), Antioch Live delivers a breathtaking follow-up to their first all-original release, Forever Sound. Other songs of note are Come and God Who Saves.

About Anitoch Church:  Straight from Antioch's website I found that they "are a people on mission, with a passion for Jesus and His purposes in the earth.  That means from the local coffee shop to the remotest edge of southeast India, we are to proclaim the word of God in truth and in love. As a people on mission for Christ, we share the passions of God’s heart for one another, for our city, for our nation and for the nations of the earth.
We will empower each person in the church to live a Kingdom lifestyle. We follow Jesus by encountering and obeying Him in our daily lives.
We will be part of transforming Waco, Texas. We will serve and reach out, both through specific church ministries and in each of our lives.
We will seek to make the Church a voice of love and truth in the United States. We will continue to plant churches and raise up church partners throughout the country.
We will partner with God to see the Church change the world. We will send short-term and long-term teams throughout the earth to reach as many people as we can with the love of God."

My Thoughts About The CD:  One of my favorite things to do is sing in church and so when I have a chance to preview music for church I am delighted.  I did not know what to expect from Antioch and all I can say is WOW!!! I cannot remember a time that music had that kind of effect on me.  It literally blew me away.  love worship music and Our God Comes blew me away!  I spend an hour each way in my car five days a week and this CD has just made that hour a time of worship and prayer. This would be a great gift for someone, or for yourself.  I am definitely going to check out some of Antioch's other music.

Disclaimer:  Thanks to B&B Media for a complimentary copy of this CD in exchange for my review. All opinions are mine alone and I was not paid for a favorable response.

In Golden Splendor

About The Book:  Irish immigrant Seamus Hanley is a lost soul, haunted by his past as a U.S. Army deserter and living alone in the wilderness of the Rocky Mountains in 1849. But after witnessing a deadly stage coach crash, he finds purpose in the scattered wreckage -- a letter with a picture of a beautiful and captivating woman named Ashlyn living in San Francisco at the height of the Gold Rush.  Moved by her written plea for help, he abandons all and sets out on an epic journey across the wild and picturesque American frontier. While being pursued by those who want to hang him, Seamus encounters fascinating characters including a young Pauite Indian who makes the ultimate sacrifice in helping Seamus to cross the snowy Yosemite Valley.  Battered but changed for the better, Seamus reaches San Francisco on Christmas Eve as the city burns in the tragic fire of 1849. But there is little time for rest, as an even greater, more harrowing adventure involving Ashlyn is about to begin.

About The Author:  Michael K. Reynolds is the writer and producer of Emmy and Telly Award-winning film campaigns and has more than two decades of experience in fiction, journalism, copywriting, and documentary production. He is the author of a series of Irish historical novels being published by B&H Publishing Group. His debut Irish historical novel, Flight of the Earls, releases January, 2013.  The Heirs of Ireland Historical Saga is an epic and sweeping Irish 19th century historical series written with a cinematographic eye. It features gripping suspense, memorable characters and breathtaking settings.  Reynolds owns Global Studio, a marketing agency, and is also an active leader in church and business, speaking in both ministry and corporate settings.  Michael lives with his wife and three children in Reno, Nevada.

My Thoughts On The Book: If you are a fan of reading about Ireland and its rich history, the history of immigration to America and America in the early to mid 1800’s then this is definitely the book for you. It is one of the most well written books I have read in a long time. I could not put it down and you won’t be able to either. The characters and settings are so life-like that the reader feels as if they are actually in the story. Michael Reynolds is an awesome wordsmith! He story unfolds with rich detail and color that actually breathes life into the characters and setting. I cannot wait for his next book to make it to the shelves and I plan to read the first book of this series. This book is a 5 in my book and a must read!
