About The Author:  Fawn Weaver was a happily married woman running a successful business—and then something happened. Maybe it was divorce rate reports on the evening news, The Real Housewives of Orange County, or any daytime talk show where husbands and wives dramatically reveal their betrayals. Everywhere she looked, Fawn saw negative portrayals of marriage dominating the airwaves and dooming everyone to failure.

My Thoughts On The Book:  My first marriage lasted over 23 miserable years and finally ended in divorce.  I was the one who left.  I am now on my 12th year of my second marriage and this book is about where I am now in my life.  I am an avid reader, and love self-help books, yet when I chose to review this book I was dreading it.  To my joy and amazement I could hardly put it down. I loved this book so much that I have found myself sharing it with friends when we meet for coffee each morning.  I have found myself sending snippets to friends who live far away.  I have found myself finding friends written within the stories of the book. It was so inspirational and so encouraging.   This collection of stories from couples who have been happily married from around the world is something all newlyweds need to have in their personl libraries.  Marriage is hard.  A happy marriage is even harder. It was eye opening to see that the core elements to having a happy marriage are the same for everyone in the world.  It does not matter where we live, who we are, or what we do. I would highly recommend this book and will definitely be sharing this book with newlyweds, friends, and family members!  Thank you Thomas Nelson for allowing me to review it! My Thoughts About the Book:  As someone who has struggled with weight most of my life I was excited when I saw this book up for review.  As a Christian I feel everything I do should glorify God but never could get a handle on controlling the weight issue...until I read this book.  I discovered in reading this book that what I eat did matter to God.  When I was struggling and looked to food I found that I had been looking in all the wrong places all the time. God's "Weigh" showed me something I really should have known all along, the Bible had the plan I needed and it was right there staring me in the face.  This book instilled in me the desire to eat and live a life that glorifies God.  I know that there are others out there just like me and if you are struggling with your weight then this might be just the  book  you need to read.

MY THOUGHTS ON THE BOOK:  This book was a delight in the hustle and bustle of life.  So often I find myself crowding out God's conversation with me. In this devotional Fay Rowe shows us a  glimpse of how to be cheerful and trustful in all areas of our lives. It was so enlightening to take very small passages of scripture and use them to help us connect with God. This devotional is written in such an easy-to-understand manner.  It is from the perspective to remind us that every day is a gift. This was a very light read for the morning when you need that reminder that life is good and God is great!  This would be a wonderful gift for a coffee club friend.  Loved it!

My Thoughts On The Book:  Harriet Beamer Strikes Gold is one of the most delightful books I have read in some time! It is so much fun, definitely an easy read and from the moment I started the first page I was hooked.  I loved Harriet Beamer, her high top tennis shoes, and her precious, artsy  friend Martha.  I wanted to be with them on every excursion they went on.  Magnin is a master of the word and this book is a must read.  If you are headed out to the beach, love to read at lunch time, or just want to be taken away and you are out of Calgon this book is for you.

My Thoughts About The Book:  I love Amish fiction and was thrilled to have the opportunity to review this book for Thomas Nelson's Book Sneeze Blogging Program.  Because it was an Amish story I devoured the book and read this book all the way through in one day.  Once I started it I could not put it down.  The resolution was a bit hard to swallow.  Trey and Hannah fell in love too quickly, after just one brief conversation.   I haven't read an Amish fiction book where things were resolved in that way, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't happen.  Clifton does not  portray the Amish as perfect people like most  Amish fiction does.  This particular Order of Amish seemed to be terribly judgmental and gossipy.  Although many of them were kind and gentle, they were human and things around her were not perfect.   Personally I don't believe this would happen where two people – one Amish and one Englisher would act on feelings of this magnitude so fast. I knew from the moment they met that Hannah would end up leaving her Order and marrying Trey.  I also knew that her decision would eventually affect her whole family. I was very frustrated with Hannah, Trey, Barbie, and Josh because of their actions yet the characters and the storyline and characters came across as real. This could really happen today.  I believe the story was one that portrayed the struggles that Amish widows face.  It was a good story about the Amish way of life and the struggles Amish women may face. I would love to read a follow up of the main characters. I really liked Hannah; her character was really likeable. I really thought Trey, and two of Hannah's children were likeable too. I can understand the struggles the other child was probably going through though. I felt all the characters were well-rounded and very thought out. This book was a gem.  Even though I was not entirely sold on the book I would still like to read the entire set of stories from the Hearts of the Lancaster Grand Hotel Series.

About The Author:  Just the facts(from her website)…I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas, and now make my home in beautiful Geneva, Ohio. I’ve been married to James for 15 wonderful years (really, they have been wonderful!) We have three terrific children, three dogs, and an overwhelmed cat. We have also raised cattle, pigs, and chickens at various times over the years. We would have gone into the goat business, but I had to draw the line somewhere. I started writing in 2000, and published my first short story a year later. Since then I have authored several short stories, novellas, novels, and have done a lot of freelance non-fiction work. I have also worked as an editor. I have a Masters degree in Special Education, emphasis on teaching the blind and visually impaired, and a Bachelors in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. I have taught all age groups ranging from age 4 to age 18. My Thoughts On The Book:  This is the third novel in the Middlefield Family series and although this novel is the third in the series, it can be read as a standalone. Letters to Katie was an enjoyable read and follows the same format as most Amish fiction. From the beginning the reader will find jealousy, love, religious struggles, disappointment, and the Amish beliefs all tied up in the plot of the novel. I would recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys Amish novels.  It was an easy read and could be read in one sitting.

My Thoughts On The Book:  We all have a lemonade story or two tucked back in our memories.  I am no exception.  This book touched every fiber of my being.  Each story was different and although they may not have all touched me directly, as a paster's wife they all provided some nugget I could keep with me for future reference.  Each dramatic story is woven together in this tight night book and very encouraging.  It is the kind of book you can read in one sitting (if you have enough kleenex on hand), or read a few at each sitting.  We all need hope in our lives and this book is exactly what the doctor ordered.  Each story is filled with hope and grace....and love.  It was a blessing to read this book and I hope my readers will want to read it too.  It is captivating and filled with gifts just for the reader. Life does give us lemons sometimes but God can take those hardships and make them into something better....Lemonade.

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BIBLE STUDY:  When I got the Bible Study I was so excited.  I love Bible Studies.  This one brought me to a screeching half when I began to ask myself....Karen, what exactly are you chasing? In life we all find ourselves chasing after something that we think we need to make us happy. But will it really?  I was so excited when I found everything I would need to fascilitate this study.  There was a study guide, leader's guide, DVD, and question cards. I had everything....except a group to do the study with. After showing the study guide to some of my church ladies a bible study group was easy to assemble.  They seemed as excited as I was.  Jennie Allen walked you through David's life and tied it to what we go through in a way that was impressive and easy to follow. What are we chasing and what should we be chasing?  Surrender is where we need to start.  God wants it all. Allen wraps up the study with the idea of being chased down and connects it to "chasing down" their adoption of a boy from Africa.  This was one that hit home since my daughter and son-in-law are currently in Moldova serving as missionaries in an orphanage.  They surrendered their jobs, their comfortable lives in the states, their families....and when God said whom shall I send....they raised their hands.  In the study as a whole the leader's guide breaks down what the goals and responsibilities of a leader are and how to encourage discussions. Each session is broken down into a main idea and a main goal you want to meet each week.  Easy Peesy for sure.  I loved the discussion cards.  Each one has a key scripture and 12 questions for each session. I am all about a study that shows you how to read the Bible and see where and how it applies to your life. Believe me this study does that to a tee.  If you get a chance to participate in this bible study....go for it.  I promise you won't regret it.

My Thoughts About The Book:  The Woman's Study Bible is a extremely informative, easy to read, and encouraging. The copy I was sent is the NIV version.  The text was so easy to understand compared to other versions of the Bible. This is definitely a Bible geared specifically and only for women. I was very excited to review this Bible. I was out of town and actually used the bible in church and found myself caught up with all the helps that really enhanced the sermon I was hearing.  They really clarified the sermon topic for me.
I really enjoyed this Bible. I recommend this to anyone searching for a nice Bible to give to a woman, girl, graduate, or possibly even a bride.  The color scheme of this Bible is earth-toned, soft, feminine and attractive, but not too "frilly" as to be distracting.

About The Author(In Her Own Words):  "My life is marked by one big bright neon line down the center, showing a clear before and after. For twenty-seven years, I lived without Christ, and everything was colored by the things of this world. Growing up in Prince George’s County, Maryland, raised by divorced parents, black, female, college and law school-educated—all of it and more informed my opinions, decisions, attitudes, and actions.

 My Thoughts On The Book:  The Color of Hope picks up where Hope Springs left off. I fell in love with Hope Springs  from page one and was so happy to be reviewing another one of Kim Cash Tate's books. the author deals with real life issues in her books in a fictional manner. In this set of books she deals with racial issues, romance and bullying.  Tate is a powerful user of words as she lets you get inside the skin of her characters.  By the time you have finished reading it is as if you are family, or at least old friends.  I highly recommend reading this book! You do not need to read Hope Springs before this book unless you are really interested in getting to know the families better, but I recommend it too. I look forward to reading many more books by Kim Cash Tate.

My Thoughts On The Book:  Having been to the Falls in 2012 when Nick Wallenda walked them and reading several legends and histories about the Falls,  I was very excited to review this book.  I was disappointed at how slow the book started out.  I did not think the first journey would ever end.  The Underground Railroad part of the journey was very intereting and since my class just studied Harriet Tubman it was enjoyable to hear her story in a different light.  I really hated the language used in this story and that kept me from really enjoying this book.  I honestly could not wait for it to end so I could be done.

My Thoughts About The Book:  As a pastor's wife I know first hand how easy it is to get caught up in the the busyness of life.  This book was remarkable.  I felt as if I walked right into Beth's life and was part of the story.  The book was funny, sad, thought provoking, and just when it could not get any better...it did.  From the beginning to the end walking in Beth's shoes... her quirky neighbors, was quite a journey.  Lisa Samson is a master wordsmith and truly makes her characters come alive on the page.  This is a must read.  Once I started the book I could not put it down.  I can't wait to read something else by her.

My Thoughts On The Book:  I have traveled many times throughout the Charleston region and it tugs at my heart every time I am there.  As a child I used to dream I was a true Charlestonian, but alas.  Edisto Island has always been one of my favorite get-aways.  There is something extremely magical there.  The story line drew you right in as Beth Webb Hart's books usually do.  From the beginning of the book I found myself emotionally attached to the characters.  I loved the way this story unfolded as a tale of forgiveness and letting go of the past.  God is portrayed as the omnipotent one he is giving Julia what her heart desires even though she is not really aware that she wants it. At one point in the story Julia thinks Marney is destroying her life  for a second time only to realize she is about to make a huge mistake in marrying Simon and that Marney is actually giving  her what she truly desires and needs in her life...children and Edisto.  I could not put this book down and as the story drew to a close I found myself hoping this would be a series.  There was so much I still needed to know about Etta, Meg, Mary Ellen, Charlie, Jed and their lives on Edisto Island.  What an amazing book by a truly wonderful wordsmith!

My Thoughts On The Book:  Secretly Smitten is the second in a series, yet it stands alone.  I had no trouble feeling as if I were a character in the stories/  All four authors are master wordsmiths and create totally believable characters.  It was a fun read and once I started reading I did not want to put the book down.

This book is number 3 in the Heaven and Earth series and even though it is a continuance it is easy to get to know the characters and not feel as if you are two steps behind. 
The main character, Katie has lived through tragedy and heartache. About The Book:  The story begins after Katie Bender loses her fiance in a tragic accident. She found peace in teaching. But when the school is destroyed by a tornado and the community doesn't want to rebuild, her future looks grim.  She must either find another occupation or move away from her family and friends. Fortunately, she has an angel by her side.  When I first began reading the book I thought the story was a little hokey.  At first it reminded me of the television series, "Touched By An Angel."  As a fan of the series, even though it is a bit farfetched I found myself caught up in the lives of the characters.  The battles that incurred between Elias and Razzen added a new dimention to the Amish novel as it usually is.  The ending was predictable but the story was sweet and an enjoyable read.  I can't wait to read the first two books in the series now.

My Thoughts On The Book:  This is the perfect book to snuggle up on the couch with on a nasty day.  Once you begin the first novella it is impossible to put the book down until you have read the last word of the last novella.  These are some of my favorite Amish authors and these stories are filled with Christmas tales, love, faith, romance, and the Amish way of life.  If you are a fan of Amish stories then this book is a must for your library.

My Thoughts On The Book:  All three of the authors are some of my favorites.  Their take on the life of the Amish is amazing.  All three novelas are filled with faith, love, and the culture of the Amish.  Having grown up in a family where the kitchen is the heart of the home and women bonded within its walls I was delighted to see that there are some amazing recipes at the end of the book and a reading guide if you would like to do a book study on the book.  It is the kind of read that makes you want to shut the world out and just submerge yourself into a world of simplicity.  A great read and would be a wonderful gift.  I plan to add it to my Amish library of keepers.

My Thoughts About the Book:  For those who love Amish life and romance this is a must read.  The first novella, A Perfect Secret was the first book I have read by Kelly Long. I loved her writing style.   She is a master wordsmith and keeps her story moving to the point that I could practically picture it in my mind. The back and forth between Luke and Rose and the desire between them both catches the reader and keeps them captive until the story ends. Rose finds out that Luke is keeping secrets and of course thinks the absolute worst, but who wouldn't? There is a thief in their Amish village and she is so curious that she actually meets him one night and is surprised at who it turns out to be. With the secrets flying will this young Amish couple make it down the aisle?
The second story, Christmas Cradles opens with Anna Stolis relieving her aunt, the local midwife. She meets Asa Lapp who is her driver while she is covering for her aunt in the middle of a horrendous snow storm.  From the meeting of the two you can feel the tension buillding. Anna, in her mid-twenties, has never had a true love so her feelings towards this man is surprising even to her.
The last story, A Marriage of the Heart, is about two Amish people, Joseph and Abby, who come together because of a lie and realize that they actually are very lonely and need each other.  Abby does a lot of maturing with the help of Joseph, who has his own secrets.  They find that they really want to feel the closeness that two people feel and eventually realize soon after what being in love really means.
