I finally put up my tree. The jar holds some of my most treasured ornaments. These ornaments were on my tree when I was a little girl.
Saturday, December 10th
I love ornaments and can tell you the story about every single one I have.
Rainbow Row ornament that is a reminder of when Frank and I first met. It is one of my favorite places in Charleston.
My lovely Mary angel ornament. Mary gave her to me about five years ago for Christmas. Is she not beautiful?
This dove was given to Frank when he worked at First Church.
The Nativity made in Townsend, TN and given to us by Chuck and Susan last year.
On one of my very first Christamases in Alabama my friend Susan gave me this ornament. I think she even made it. She was always an amazing crafty person.
Frank's work ladder ornament. I gave it to him in 2009.
The two bells are remnant ornaments that were mine when I was a child.
Terry giving Jax a guitar lesson at Amanda's Open House.

what a great idea to store your treasured ornaments in a jar! I have many on my tree from my childhood!! And like you, I can tell you a story about each ornament on my tree!!!
We are not decorating fully this year. I was gone last week and then we are going to be gone the week after Christmas, so I have decided to just put out a minimal amount.....it's actually a bit sad.
i love you ornament idea. I have many from my childhood too.
Your tree is pretty.
Loved seeing your ornaments! I much prefer a mix of "sentimental" ornaments that actually mean something, over a matching set. Years ago, when we lived in Florida, they had a homemade ornament exchange every year. I still have a few from then (sadly, some broke over the years).
Have a wonderful week!
Such a cute donkey! I love all equines!
I loved seeing all of your ornaments. Ours all have special meanings as well, and it's fun to tell the stories as we decorate our tree.
One of my favorite things to do is unwrap all the treasured ornaments. We have been collecting ornaments from all the various places we have been over the years. It is fun to remember the fun vacations and interesting places as we uncover each ornament.
I save the homemade ones for last. Those mommy treasures that are held together with glue, glittery and made by little fingers. Mine are all grown now so it bring back such sweet memories of when they were little!
Love the ornament jar! We have some ornaments from Mike's grandmother - they would look great in a jar like that.
We didn't put up our tree this year, but I wrote a poem once about how many memories each ornament has - I think you might relate to it - it's here: http://danabugseyeview.blogspot.com/2009/12/18-days-of-christmas-fifth-day.html
Love your ornaments!!
Cute little donkey and the Holly is so pretty. Those treats look pretty tasty.
Beautiful photos of your ornaments. Love the jar idea. This year I put a bunch of old and new shiny ones in a crystal bowl that never had much purpose.
