1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..
Oh and Ahem, if you would take pity and turn off comment verification, it would make leaving some love on your post that much easier for folks!
OK, are you ready? Please give us your best five minutes on:::

Hi!
I was so excited for FMF to start back up too! :) I love your post. I think it's great you look at the new year as an "opportunity" to do things instead of making resolutions. I don't do those either. I choose One Word and focus on that all year.
Nice to meet you!
Mary
I don't make resolutions, either. Like you, I write lists of things to accomplish, change or do....So happy to find you on Five Minute Friday.
Those are all fabulous opportunities to try and take advantage of this year!
I have some similar ones myself! The main one being to SIMPLIFY!
I have baby number 5 on the way and I really need to declutter my life!!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's!
"Say it nicer" - I LOVE that! I'm gonna give that a try to. I'm also gonna try to find the humor in EVERYTHING. I know that's not entirely possible, but it's what I'm gonna aim for. Happy New Year, Karen!
