1. Besides left over Easter goodies, what's something currently kept in a basket at your house?
Toiletries in the guest bathroom. There are wash clothes, hand towels and things guest may have forgotten.

2. 'The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.' ~Michelangelo Buonarroti So which one are you...the one who aims too high, or the one who aims too low? Have you ever seen The Sistine Chapel? Did you know Michelangelo's surname prior to answering this question? I can go either way depending what it is we're talking about. In general I think it's good to aim high. If I miss the mark I can always re-aim. I've been to the Sistine Chapel. It was amazing to see. I could have stayed there all day. I was with my best friend, Mary and my daughter....and some other students and adults....but while we were in there...it was just the three of us standing in awe.
3. April 7th is National Beer Day. Hmmm...wonder how that's celebrated? Do you like beer? Have a favorite? If you're not a beer drinker do you have any recipes you enjoy cooking that call for beer?
I have never been a beer drinker. I know there are all sorts of recipes out there calling for beer, but I can't recall ever trying one at home. I have made beer bread and used it in hushpuppies....but I truly do not like the smell of the stuff and since I am so sensory the smell thing is something I cannot get past.
4. When did you last travel somewhere new? Tell us where? How'd it go? We went to family Thanksgiving at Laguna Beach, Florida. It is located right outside of Panama City. We rented a house and all of us (30+) celebrated the holidays there. It was great fun all being under one roof.
5. The value of _________________________is greatly overrated. Rap music is also my answer....It is not music...and I am definitely not a fan of the language that screams from it.
6. What's a pet peeve of yours when it comes to restaurant dining?
Parents who do not control their children....and take them out late, when they are tired and sleepy and they cry and scream. I also get irked when parents allow their children to make huge messes and either don't try and clean up a bit...or don't tip their waitress well for having to dig out of their child's mess. I eat out late to avoid this...and it never fails....I will be seated right beside this scenario. If I wanted to have a kids circus at a meal I would eat at Chuckee Cheese! (BTW....I raised three....and they knew better than not to behave!)

PART I
On either side the river lie
Long fields of barley and of rye,
That clothe the wold and meet the sky;
And thro' the field the road runs by
To many-tower'd Camelot;
And up and down the people go,
Gazing where the lilies blow
Round an island there below,
The island of Shalott. [1]
Willows whiten, aspens quiver, [2]
Little breezes dusk and shiver
Thro' the wave that runs for ever
By the island in the river
Flowing down to Camelot.
Four gray walls, and four gray towers,
Overlook a space of flowers,
And the silent isle imbowers
The Lady of Shalott.
By the margin, willow-veil'd
Slide the heavy barges trail'd
By slow horses; and unhail'd
The shallop flitteth silken-sail'd
Skimming down to Camelot:
But who hath seen her wave her hand?
Or at the casement seen her stand?
Or is she known in all the land,
The Lady of Shalott? [3]
Only reapers, reaping early
In among the bearded barley,
Hear a song that echoes cheerly
From the river winding clearly,
Down to tower'd Camelot:
And by the moon the reaper weary,
Piling sheaves in uplands airy,
Listening, whispers "'Tis the fairy
Lady of Shalott". [4]...

Oh I love that poem too!! Your Thanksgiving sounds wonderful. What a great idea! And I so agree that rap is not music. It's just annoying.
Great way to put toiletries out for your guests. That sounds like a great way to spend Thanksgiving. I agree with the parents who don't control their children in restaurants. That poem is lovely. Enjoy the rest of your week.
I will try to hop over and read your A-Z posts. I try to visit a few every day, and then anyone who visits me. It's a lot to keep up with on Hodgepodge Day! Have a nice weekend!
