Project 365 - April 24th - April 30th

This is week 18 of Project 365.  I am a little late this week because we had Homecoming at church yesterday.  Sara at ...Make Music from Your Heart to the Lord waited patiently for me to post.  There are wonderful pictures that others have made linked up over there so if you want to see some truly awesome pictures visit Sara at her blog.  You won't be sorry.

Sunday, April 24th - Easter Sunday

The iris's I took in our next door neighbor, Mrs. Mildred's, yard.  We had just delivered her some breakfast from church and the ground was still wet with dew.  I spotted the sun shining on these beauties and had to take the shot.  What a glorious Easter picture.

 Monday, April 25th

Monday evening we went to check on Mrs. Betty Jean and Mr. Larry.  I took my camera because I know her yard is full of gorgeous growing things.  The clematis(top) and the stag horn fern (3rd) are two of my favorite growing things.  Mrs. Betty Jean has such a green thumb.  Her flowers are always such a joy!

Tuesday, April 26th

I have told you that I live in a small community.  How many communities would you still see a sign like this on the side of the road?...unless it were an Amish town.

 Wednesday, April 27th

Wednesday night while we waited for the bad weather....we made a quick run toWal-mart and I caught this picture at a house we pass quite often on our way to the Houzes.  I was tickled to see the bucket on top too...makes the picture perfect I think.

My birthday present from Frank arrived on Monday....but I waited til tonight since the weather was making me nervous to play with it.  It definitely kept me occupied.  Frank gave me a portable studio for my birthday.  I have several things I want to post on E-bay and this way I can make really cool pictures.  It was so much fun.  I think I made 30 pictures of the rabbit trying to get the right settings.  I cannot wait for summer....I am going to be a small studio photography fool!

Thursday, April 28th

 Thursday we bowl.  Children's Harbor, Elmore County, and Tallapoosa County were all hit hard by the tornadoes.  The picture you are looking at once had expensive houses and cabins where you see the debris.

There are cabins behind these snapped trees that once housed children from Children's Hospital for summer camps. 

And just a few short feet away....was peace and tranquility and nothing was touched.  A photographer actually stood at the lighthouse at Children's Harbor and was taking pictures of the lightening and storm as the devastation was taking place very close to him.  It was nighttime when it hit here and you could see nothing.

The chapel, lighthouse, and Hank Williams cabin....all untouched.  Weather is truly amazing.

Friday, April 29th

Friday night was date night with my sweetie.  He was in the mood for Italian and so we had supper at one of our favorite places in Auburn/Opelika.  If you are EVER in the area and want some wonderful Italian food then you must try this.  The food, service, and atmosphere make you feel as if you are at some Italian villa just outside of Assissi.  What a great night this was!

Saturday, April 30th

We had breakfast with Ron and Beth at the Farm House in Roanoke, went to the book sale, and then went to check out my mom's house and see all that Eric has done in the past couple of weeks.  His work was amazing...and on our way out I caught a little beauty basking in the sun.  Hope your week was good and I can't wait to see everyone elses pictures.  Have a great first of May!
