Q is for Quebec

Q is for Quebec
My adventures continue as they take me to Quebec.  I have a funny(not so amusing) Quebec story.  My friend Mary and I went there several years ago and were doing some souvenir shopping.  We found this wonderful (from theoutside) looking boutique and decided we could pick up a few girl souvenirs in there.  We went in and looked around the store while the two sales clerks talked to each other.  Neither of them ever approached us to ask if they could help us.  I noticed that they changed from speaking in English to speaking in French and I also watched them help several French speaking customers who came in well after we did.  I took two years of French in high school and remember numbers to ten and how to greet someone....period.  Mary is from Louisiana and speaks French well.  We actually quit shopping and just gawked at the rudeness of the employees.  Finally I spoke to MM in Spanish and she responded to me in the same language.  When they realized we were not English speakers they came over and offered to help....in English.  We told them we were not interested and left.  Two doors down we found another lovely little boutique and bought a ton of stuff there.  I wanted to go back to the first store and show them how much commission they lost.  MM would not let me.  Quebec was beautiful in the fall but as far as adding it to my bucket list again.....it is not going to happen.  It was one of those one time is enough places.

Strange. I would have been tempted to go back and show them what they lost in commission, too. :)

Oh, I want to go to Quebec, but I definitely would've said something about how rude they were!

I would love to travel more. I've been all over the United States, but the only other country I've visited is Mexico. Definately on my Bucket List.

New follower here. I’m enjoying reading my fellow “A to Z”ers. I look forward to visiting again.
