We left this morning before 7, stopped and got some coffee and gas...then headed to Vestavia Hills UMC so Frank could attend a class called "The First 90 Days" for new and moving pastors. While he was in class I went to Homewood and Vestavia and hit consignment and antique stores. I had a blast. I guess I should tell you all that it's official....we are moving. Frank has been given Rock Mills UMC in Rock Mills, AL and we will be moving Father's Day week. Today we went to see the parsonage and meet some of the church people. I am going to love the parsonage....it is so me. I will post pictures after I move in and get settled. The parsonage is fully furnished so we are going to sell our furniture so we won't have to store it. The dining room has ivy stenciled around the door way...and will just match my Corelle Ivy dishes. I have a DISHWASHER...and it is not me! There is a living room, laundry room, nice sized kitchen....with a kitchen desk in it.....loads of closets and storage areas....3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a den....and a dining room! It is wonderful!!!!! The parsonage is out of site of the church...but close enough to walk to. The town is the last town before you enter Georgia. I can't wait to explore the area. There is a trade days in the town on the first and third Saturday of every month....March to December, and a pottery guy there that makes some awesome pieces, a cool used book store, and Aubry's Feed and Seed...where there are some awesome plants. Sounds like I have my work cut out for me. Happy Saturday to all!
I am a woman who wears many hats and loves them all. I am a singer - I sing with the group Still Magnolias. I was part of the original First United Methodist Church Arbor Praise Team until we moved. After 24+ years of teaching English 11 and Spanish I - II at Benjamin Russell High School I decided to take a job closer to home. I now teach Spanish I & 2 at Randolph Co. High School and Wadley. I thought I was getting close to retirement and looking forward to it, but decided to move my cheese and try something different. I am a preacher's wife and a preacher myself. My husband Frank is the pastor at Rock Mills United Methodist Church and I am the pastor at Midway (Wedowee). It has made our conversations interesting, to say the least.
