The First Hodgepodge for 2011

I always look forward to Wednesday's Hodgepodge.  It is a true time when I am forced to sit and reflect on stuff ....some silly....some not.  Hope you enjoy reading my responses.
1.  What three words would you use to describe 2010?
busy, sad, prayerful-
2. If fear were not an issue what is something you'd like to try?
With or without the fear issue....there is really nothing I would like to try that I haven't already tried.
3. What do you add to your coffee or tea?
Coffee - fake sugar and some kind of creamer (I truly like the flavored ones); tea - lemon or lime if it is iced.  Honey if it is hot`.
4. What historical sporting event would you like to witness?
None....I don't care about watching sports on television....if I could be there...probably the year the dream team hockey team won the gold medal in the Olympics.  I think that would have been fun.
5. What is one piece of advice you would like to give your sixteen year old self?
You truly are somebody....believe it.
6. Are you a planner or do you prefer to fly by the seat of your pants?
I am a planner....but I have flown by the seat of my pants a time or two, especially when I was being observed and ran out of stuff to do in class....my creative self came out and we had a ball....one of the best performance observations I have ever gotten.
7. What is one thing you are looking forward to in 2011?  Meeting my bloggy buddy Mary
8. Insert your own random thought here.
What is the one thing you would like a do-over in life on?
Some of my  kids asked me if they could have a do-over on their final yesterday...it was really hard not to just burst into mad laughter when I looked into their sincere, sweet, little faces.  Do-over?  Muwwwwahhhhhh.....there is no such thing in life.  Once something is done....it is done.  When I got home last night I got to thinking about do-overs...and what would I do-over if I could....and I decided that if I could do something over...it would be finishing up with college before having children......I would be retired with 36 years at the end of this year....instead of 56 with 4 years to go to 25.  Sigh...oh the choices we make.

Interesting question...I might have to 'borrow' that one for a future hodgepodge!

Hoping 2011 is full of happy moments...and hoping you get to meet Mary too...we met eons ago as she and my hubs are from the same small town and we went to the same uni with the same major...although I'm older: ) I hope to see her in person again this year too!

I enjoyed reading your Hodgepodge. I can so relate on your do-over question. If only life did allow do-overs! That's why the choices we make are so important and far-reaching. If only we could see that when we are young ...

The great thing is that God can take the choices we make and bring good out of it, if we are living for Him. (Romans 8:28)

I wonder about the do-over. Would I keep everything the same so I would end up here - or throw comfort away and redo EVERYTHING!!

Well, there are things I would have liked to do differently but I'm afraid of the consequences if I had...Its kind of like that Garth Brooks song, The Dance....we could have missed the pain but we'd of had to miss the dance....even the bad experiences Honey Bear and I have had, have made us stronger..

Karen: You are just too sweet! So funny that we had the same answer to #4!
I had to chuckle when I read Joyce's response...yes, she is older, but not by a whole lot! :D
Do-overs: That would have to do with a certain guy I was seeing when I met CH. Oh, if I could have that time over!
